Game of Thrones Season 6 Episode 2 Reaction

My expectations for this episode were low after reading the official summary earlier this week.  Boy, was I misled.

We open with Bran, and he's been time walking with the Three-eyed Raven.  We see young Ned Stark sparring in Winterfell and get introduced to Lyanna (is it just me or does it seem like Bran has the hots for her?). This looks like it's setting up for the Tower of Joy scene which might be coming as early as the next episode.

Oh yeah, and Hodor used to be able to talk!

At the wall, Davos and crew are rescued by the wild lines and a giant.  Believeable, I thought.  I would not try to fight off a giant.

Tommen and Jaime share a father-son moment at the sept and Jaime gives him some good advice before having an interesting showdown with the High Sparrow.  I wonder if Jaime will be next on the sparrow's list since he confessed to several  crimes inside the sept.

Tommen goes to Cersei for being useless, and that's maybe the happiest Cesei has been in a few years.

Not sure what the point was of Tyrion unchaining the dragons when he didn't let them out of the dungeon or even feed them as he said he was going to.  Guessing it's setting up a breakout later, although how those huge dragons will fit through the little door remains to be seen.

Arya looks like she passed the test. Moving on up the assassin ranks, level 3 unlocked.

There's a new Bolton boy ... and then there isn't.   I think we all saw this coming.  Nice trick of photography, for a second I thought it was Roose that stabbed Ramsay.  Interesting detail, the Karstark in the room looks like he had been brought in on this plot.  Now it looks like Ramsay will ride to the wall and slaughterer the remaining Night's Watch - but he doesn't realize that the willing a are there too, and it's hinted that the other Northmen won't put up with his mad dog ways so he may find an army creeping up his back once he gets to the wall.

Theon announces that he is going home. Hmm, is that a good idea?  Will he be the next king of the Ironmen? There are a lot of stronger personalities on Pike.

Speaking of which, we see Balon murdered by Euron -- something hinted at but not said explicitly in the books.  Where's the eyepatch, Euron?

Yara is getting no encouragement from Damphair on her quest for the throne.  Interestingly, he hints at a Kingsport like its the standard procedures, where in the books it a controversial move that hasn't been used in hundreds of years.

Davos asks Meli to wake the dead, and she gives it a go.  It looks like it's not going to work, but after everyone leaves .... Gasp! Jon's back.  Never saw that coming.  The question is, who is he now? will he be changed? Will he take advantage of the fact he died to be released from the Nights Watch, or will he pick back up where he left?
